Industry awards for Park Hotel

KENMARE’S Park Hotel scooped two awards at the hospitality industry’s annual sales and marketing awards at a ceremony in Dublin last night.

The hotel carried off awards for best marketing innovation and best tourism sales and marketing professional, which was won by Margaret Ryan. The awards were organised by HSMAI, the international association representing the hospitality sales and marketing industry, and sponsored by tourism development body Fáilte Ireland.

Tipperary’s Knockranny House Hotel won the award for best hotel brochure, while best tourism brochure went to The Heritage at Killenard, Co Laois. The Lynch Hotel Group was named best hotel sales team, with the individual hotel sales and marketing professional award going to Gillian Nevin of the McEniff Grand Canal Hotel in Dublin, which opened for business earlier this year. The Westbury Hotel near Dublin’s Grafton Street won the best customer care team category.

Dublin’s Stillorgan Park Hotel and car rental firm Argus picked up prizes for use of the internet as part of their marketing strategy. Alison Boyd of Dublin’s Westin Hotel won the Paddy Fitzpatrick Award, a new category named to commemorate the late hotel industry innovator that recognises young talent in the sector. A lifetime achievement award was presented to Aoife Henderson of the Clarion hotel group.
