THE National Lottery raised over €200 million last year for beneficiary projects, according to its latest annual report.

The figure is 6.3% higher than the amount raised in 2004 and comes on the back of a further increase in National Lottery games sales.

Dermot Griffen, who is replacing Ray Bates as National Lottery director, said the growth in sales last year was double that of the previous year and more people than ever are playing lottery games.
