SHARES in Dublin traded lower yesterday with the ISEQ index falling 41.47 points to close at 4291.39.

Financial stocks continued Tuesday’s negative trend, with Bank of Ireland losing 28c to 10.85 and Allied Irish Bank slipping 5c to €14.00. Irish Life & Permanent declined 25c to €12.00, while Anglo Irish Bank nudged a cent higher to €6.66. First Active was unchanged at €5.20. Overall, the ISEQ financial index dropped 113.98 points to 8,723.24.

It was a poor day for the construction sector as CRH shed 23c to €13.15. McInerney gave up 10c to €2.05 and Readymix finished 7c lower at €1.25.
