Elan the stellar performer in Dublin

Shares in Dublin bucked the negative trend across Europe, rising for the first day in four.

Elan was the top performer, helping the market rise 75.90 points to 5260.61.

Following an overnight surge of 7.9% in the US, the ISEQ's best performing stock this year, helped to alleviate recent investor concerns by rebounding €2.34 to €15.74. Also in the pharmaceutical sector, Warner Chilcott put in a strong showing in both the Irish and UK market.
