Liverpool next on Ryanair’s radar

No-frills airline Ryanair has announced plans for a new base at Liverpool’s John Lennon Airport.

The company will splash out $240 million on four new aircraft to serve the base, which will be Ryanair’s 12th. It will operate nine new routes from Liverpool, including services to Cork and Shannon as well as cities in France, Italy and Spain.

It expects to carry more than 1.4 million passengers through Liverpool next year.
