Airport reports traffic increase
And airport manager Jarlath Feeney says it hopes to attract more airlines to boost the 170 flights a week operated by Aer Arann and EuroManx.
At present there are direct flights from Galway to Edinburgh, Manchester, London, Paris, Lorient and Malaga, while plans are being considered to develop a route to the Algarve in Portugal.
Latest figures show that over 82,000 people travelled through the airport in the past three months.
