Euro rises against dollar for third day

THE euro rose against the dollar in New York for a third day after the European Central Bank said the currency’s yearlong rally wouldn’t crimp exports, easing concern that policy makers plan to sell euros or lower interest rates.

Europe’s currency climbed more than a cent in the hour after the ECB released its monthly report, which said faster global growth will compensate for the euro’s 18% rise in the past year and support demand for exports.

Citigroup Inc raised its three-month forecast for the euro.
