DCC takes over Allied Foods

Marketing and distribution group DCC has completed its buyout of Allied Foods following clearance from the Competition Authority.

DCC previously owned approximately 50% of the company and will pay €14.5 million to take full control. DCC chief executive Jim Flavin said at the time that the acquisition strengthened the group’s position in Ireland’s growing food service and chilled and frozen food sectors.
