No company making more money than Ireland, UN list shows
The UN Conference on Trade and Development list of the top 100 economic entities for the year 2000 shows that there is no company ahead of Ireland in the wealth-creation stakes.
The countries are ranked by Gross Domestic Product and corporations by “value added”, the sum of pre-tax profits, salaries, amortisation and depreciation.
Ireland fares well with in 39th slot, with a GDP of £61.8 billion, ahead of New Zealand in 50th with a GDP of £33.2, and the Czech Republic in 51st with a GDP of £33.2 billion.
In 45th position, the ExxonMobil Corp at £41 billion is the greatest commercial wealth creator and, like Ireland, is ahead of countries with large populations like Pakistan and Hungary.
