ISEQ strong for sixth day running

THE Irish Market closed in positive territory for the sixth day in a row, adding to its all-year high, posting an increase of 24.33 points to 6173.53.

In the financials it was a mixed bag, with the run-up to the holiday season beginning to see traditionally low volume.

Bank of Ireland and Anglo Irish were the only banks to stay above water advancing 17c and 40c to €12.15 and €17.80. AIB faltered slightly on account of further profit taking, slipping 9c to €14.81, while Irish Life & Permanent followed suit to lose 10c to €13.50.
