Market ends week on negative note

THE ISEQ index ended the week with the negative trend prevailing. The Dublin market moved downward, to the tune of 20.60, to close out at 6084.30, despite European markets having a generally positive day.

The financial sector had a mixed day. Winner on the day was Anglo-Irish who increased their share price by 9c to conclude trading at €20.09. Banking leader AIB remained level at €15.63. Bank of Ireland and Irish Life & Permanent both lost ground, 8c and 15c respectively.

The construction giant CRH shed 2c to end the week at €20.38. Kingspan's stock rose 22c to level off at €8.85, while Grafton picked up 10c to finish at €9.54.
