Market ends week on negative note
The financial sector had a mixed day. Winner on the day was Anglo-Irish who increased their share price by 9c to conclude trading at €20.09. Banking leader AIB remained level at €15.63. Bank of Ireland and Irish Life & Permanent both lost ground, 8c and 15c respectively.
The construction giant CRH shed 2c to end the week at €20.38. Kingspan's stock rose 22c to level off at €8.85, while Grafton picked up 10c to finish at €9.54.
Elsewhere, Waterford Wedgewood slid to a low of 3c on the back of news that CFO Paul D'Alton had resigned, but rebounded amid heavy trading volumes to end at 4.4c. Ryanair however, shed 3c to wrap up at €5.85.
