Diamond firms shares sparkle

SHARES in African Diamonds rose 5% on London’s Alternative Investment Market yesterday after the diamond exploration company issued a positive update on its operations in the African states of Sierra Leone, Guinea and Botswana.

Chairman John Teeling said the company was encouraged by the quality and size of samples that had been found and that one of its mining licences was attracting interest from potential joint venture partners.

“African Diamonds is actively pushing ahead with projects in three countries,” he said.
