Tourist development body Tourism Ireland has opened a new Nordic region headquarters in Copenhagen.

The new office, which will be headed by Sinead Grace and which aims to increase tourist numbers to Ireland from Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland, was opened yesterday by tourism minister John O’Donoghue.

Mr O’Donoghue said: “The new team will work to consolidate our activities in the Nordic markets to the benefit of all our stakeholders. Expertise from across all market areas will be brought together to ensure continued future growth with increased emphasis in a number of areas, including e-marketing.”
