Systemhouse Technology group, which was set up by Dermot Williams and Wendy Thornton and sells internet security software, was sold yesterday to the Top Security Group.

The pair set up the company in 1988 and are the only two shareholders. It is based in South Country Business Park in Dublin. Top Security chief executive Emmet O'Rafferty said the takeover was necessary to build up its security division, as this was a growing market. Top Security provides a number of security services, ranging from CCTV monitoring and biometrics to manned security services, and retail and industrial security to executive and VIP protection.
