THE ISEQ index reached another 52-week low yesterday, slipping 103.88 points lower to 4105.03.

The financial market fell 305.67 points to 8049.93 in yet another bad day for the banks.

Bank of Ireland fell 10 cents to 11.05 as Allied Irish Banks closed 35 cent lower at 11.75. Anglo Irish Bank lost 12 cent to 6.10 and Irish Life & Permanent slipped back 15 cent to 13.15. IFG Group fell 25 cent to 1.45 and First Active closed 5 cent lower at 4.20.

In the industrial sector, CRH fell 25 cent to 15.55 and DCC closed 14 cent lower at 10.34.

Abbey slipped back 10 cent to 4.40 and Kingspan managed to gain 13 cent to 2.25. In the food sector, Kerry Group fell 5 cent to 14.65 as Glanbia slipped back 4 cent to 1.36. Elsewhere, Power Leisure rose 12 cent to 5.37 and Irish Continental Group closed 10 cent higher at 7.35. Jury’s Doyle Hotels fell 20 cent to 9.30 and Ryanair gained 10 cent to 5.35.
