BAA to take Ryanair to court

THE British Airports Authority (BAA) is to take court action against Ryanair over the non-payment of £1 million landing fees at Stansted Airport.

BAA, the world’s largest single airport operator, said a High Court writ would be issued against the Irish no-frills carrier after a 4pm deadline was not met yesterday.

Ryanair, along with other carriers, gets a special airport-charging discount from BAA as part of BAA’s expansion of Stansted.
