Johnson & Johnson may buy Guidant

Johnson & Johnson, the world’s biggest maker of medical devices, may announce that it’s buying defibrillator maker Guidant Corp on Monday, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing people familiar with the situation.

The Johnson & Johnson board will meet today to approve the transaction, the newspaper said, with the price likely to be $74 to $76 a share.
