STATOIL is to make a number of job cuts from its 250 staff in Ireland.

The company said last night that around 13 managers would go and an undisclosed number of general workers.

Tony Murray, Statoil’s managing director in Ireland, said in a statement there would be a commitment to maintaining local control of the business in Ireland.
