Israel incursion death total ‘rises to 600’ as fighting continues

The death toll from Hamas’ wide-ranging incursion into Israel has risen to 600, it has been reported, as Israeli soldiers battled militants in the streets on Sunday and launched retaliation strikes that levelled buildings in Gaza.

The Kan public broadcaster and Channel 12, as well as the Haaretz and Times of Israel newspapers, all reported the toll.
