Lemmy Kilmister, lead singer of Motorhead, has died
Lemmy Kilmister, the lead singer of Motorhead and a pioneer of heavy metal, has died.
He was 70, and had developed an aggressive cancer which was only diagnosed on Sunday.
Kilmister suffered from health problems in recent years - but Brandon Geist from Rolling Stone magazine said that did not appear to change him.
“Lemmy to a lot of people, really embodies rock and roll, not just in terms of his music, but in terms of his spirit, his attitude that he carried all the way to the age of 70 and never comprised.
“He never gave up that irreverence all the way to the end.”
Ozzy Osbourne from Black Sabbath has tweeted: "He was a warrior and a legend".
Lost one of my best friends, Lemmy, today. He will be sadly missed. He was a warrior and a legend. I will see you on the other side.

Lemmy won a Lifetime Achievement Award at a ceremony in LA in 2010 and described what it meant to him: “Its nice you know, something else to put on the mantelpiece,
“it means, I did it right. That’s all I can say, that is the biggest thing you can get, that I did it right.”
