UK 'letting down allies says top military commander
Britain's top military commander claims the UK's "letting down" its allies by not taking part in airstrikes against Islamic State militants in Syria.
The RAF is involved in strikes against I-S in Iraq.
But Nicholas Houghton has said it "makes no sense" not to extend the mission to areas where the militants - also known as ISIL and Daesh - have their powerbase.
“In the simplistic way it is like being asked to win a football match but not being allowed to go into the opponents half.
“ISIL they have a caliphate which extends across that border.”
