Dad, 14, ordered to move out of his mother's house

A 14-year-old boy in England who has fathered a son had been given “insufficient sexual boundaries” and must not live with his mother, a family court judge has ruled.

Judge Rebecca Brown said the teenager’s son remained with “his very young mother”. But she ruled that the teenager had to live with a relative under the supervision of local authority social services staff.

Detail of the case has emerged in a written ruling by Judge Brown after a hearing in Milton Keynes County Court. She did not name anyone involved but said the local authority with responsibility for the teenager was Buckinghamshire County Council.

The teenager, who is nearly 15, had been removed from home by social workers and had gone to live with a relative after refusing to be placed in foster care.

And he had e-mailed Judge Brown saying he wanted to “go home and be with my mum”.

But the judge ruled that he must remain with the relative and said placing him under local authority supervision was in his best interests.

The judge said the teenager’s mother had “presided over a household in which there were insufficient sexual boundaries”.

And she added: “(He) was brought up in an abusive and neglectful household where his needs were not met. I am very concerned that he fathered a child when only 14-years-old himself.

“I understand that he has contact with his son, who remains with his very young mother, and that he is devoted to the child who he sees on a daily basis after school.”
