A powerful tornado struck the town of Tupelo, Mississippi, on Monday evening.
Several reports emerged of vehicles being overturned and extensive damage to buildings in the area. There have yet to be any reports of fatalities or serious injures.
Local news station WTVA reported the touchdown live on air before abandoning the broadcast to reach the building's basement, as the storm can be clearly heard in the background.
Tupelo is the largest city in Lee County, with a population of approximately 175,000 in the metropolitan area.
