Girl, 8, punched by 30-year-old man in UK street attack

British police are investigating after an eight-year-old girl was assaulted as she walked down the street with a friend, it has emerged.

The youngster had been walking along Silver Street in Dursley, Gloucestershire, at 12.55pm on Saturday when the attack happened.

A man, believed to be around 30, crossed the road and punched the girl - causing her to fall to the ground.

A spokeswoman for Gloucestershire Police said: “The punch and the resulting fall caused facial injuries.

“The offender is described as white, male and around 30 years of age. He was around 5ft 8in to 6ft tall, of stocky build and was wearing dark blue jeans, black shoes and a leather jacket which was zipped up.”
