Cypriot government launches criminal investigation in banking crisis
The Cypriot Government has launched a criminal investigation into its banking crisis.
It comes after a committee of enquiry, which was appointed three months ago, decided it could not investigate matters that were pending in court.
Cyprus's government met earlier today - and decided that the public enquiry could work in tandem with a criminal investigation.
President Nicos Anastasiades has vowed to get to the bottom of the crisis - which led to Cyprus needing a €23bn bailout.
