Belgian police have said that a British oil executive shot dead in Brussels could have been the victim of a targeted assassination or a random mugging.

60-year-old Nicholas Mockford was attacked as he left a restaurant with his wife in Brussels.

It happened two weeks ago but details have only been released to the media today.

His employer - ExxonMobil - does not think it was work related.
