Huge solar flare threaten chaos

An enormous solar flare is heading toward Earth and could disrupt power grids, satellite navigating systems and aeroplane flights.

Forecasters at the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Space Weather Prediction Centre said the sun erupted Tuesday evening and the effects should start smacking Earth around 5am Wednesday Irish time.
