Court orders Pfizer to pay $73m in damages
A US court has ordered pharmaceutical giant Pfizer to pay three women almost $73m in damages.
Jurors in Philadelphia deliberated over two days before finding today that hormone-replacement drugs made by Pfizer were responsible for cancer in the women.
More than six million women took Pfizer-made menopause drugs to treat symptoms such as hot flushes and mood swings, before a 2002 study highlighted their links to cancer.
