Furry thesps tread Bangkok boards

A theatre show starring cats and dogs is being shown in Bangkok.

Thought to be the first of its kind, the production - entitled 'Dog and Cat First on Stage: Thailand Fantasy The Musichong' - has a cast made up of 11 canines, one feline and six human beings.

Created to raise money for Kasetsart University's animal hospital, it tells the story of a group of dogs who help save Thailand's tourism industry and their owners' travel company.

Scriptwriter and director Wanwilai Boonlon said: "There's the challenge of getting man and dog to perform together, and so the human cast have to be animal lovers, who understand and can communicate with the dogs."
