Student's prom song becomes net hit

An American college student has become an internet hit after wooing a girl to go to the prom with him by serenading her in front a classroom.

Brave Jason Pitts's romantic moment was caught on video and now thousands have watched the love-struck teen sing and play guitar to Lianna Cohen, convincing her to agree to be his date.

In the video, he announces: "Attention everyone, can I have a couple minutes of your time? Lately there's been an important question on my mind."

He then breaks into song with the words: "You see, there's this pretty girl sitting in this class without a clue, that I would ask her this today at school in front of all of you."

A delighted Lianna then runs into his arms and agrees to go to the prom with him.
