The former media tycoon Conrad Black could be facing a return to prison, after an attempt to overturn his convictions for fraud and obstruction failed.

Black - who once owned the Daily Telegraph - has served two years of a six-and-a-half-year sentence for defrauding investors.

He was released from prison in Florida earlier this year, pending his appeal.
