Yemeni president orders rebels' release

Yemen’s president has today ordered the release of northern rebels and a number of southern separatists and called for a national dialogue to mend differences so the conflict-ridden nation can focus on combating terrorism.

Ali Abdullah Saleh announced the pardon in a televised speech. It was not immediately clear how many prisoners were affected.
