Nasa: Quake shortened the Earth's day

A Nasa scientist has claimed the earthquake in Chile on Saturday probably shifted the Earth's axis and made days slightly shorter.

Richard Gross calculated the axis may have moved by around eight centimetres following the 8.8 magnitude quake.
