Crash caused by turbulence
Investigators have confirmed that turbulence from a larger plane caused the crash of a government jet that killed Mexico’s interior secretary and 15 other people a year ago.
They say pilots of the Learjet were too slow to reduce their speed and came up too close behind a Boeing 767, which was on the same flight path to Mexico City’s international airport.
The Learjet crashed into the capital’s wealthy Lomas neighbourhood on November 4, 2008, killing Interior Secretary Juan Camilo.
