Two contract employees for the US State Department have been fired and a third disciplined for inappropriately looking at the passport file of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama, a spokesman said today.

Sean McCormack said the department itself detected the instances of ā€œimprudent curiosity,ā€ which occurred separately on January 9, February 21 and March 14. He would not release the names of those who were fired and disciplined.
