Prosecutor seeks trial over 2000 Concorde crash
A French prosecutor wants a court to try Continental Airlines and four people in connection with the 2000 Concorde crash in which 113 people died.
The prosecutor in the Paris suburb of Pontoise is requesting that Continental and two of its employees stand trial for manslaughter.
French investigators say that a titanium strip left on the runway by a Continental Airlines DC-10 was to blame for the crash.
The prosecutor also wants two French officials to go on trial. One of them is a civil aviation official and the other was a director of the Concorde programme.
The prosecutor’s office made public the requests today.
