Dozens of Kurdish rebels killed in Turkey

Turkish troops have killed 77 Kurdish rebels in overnight clashes in northern Iraq, the military said today.

Five soldiers were also killed.

The total death toll for the rebels has reached 230 since the incursion began on Thursday, the military said, while 24 soldiers have been killed.

The military said three pro-government village guards also have been killed during the operation.
