Jury retires in Ipswich prostitute murder trial
A jury retired today to consider its verdicts following the trial of a man accused of murdering five prostitutes in the UK in 2006.
Steve Wright, 49, of Ipswich, Suffolk, denies murdering Gemma Adams, 25, Tania Nicol, 19, Anneli Alderton, 24, Paula Clennell, 24, and Annette Nicholls, 29.
The naked bodies of the women, who all worked as prostitutes in Ipswich, were found at isolated spots near the town between December 2 and December 12, 2006.
Mr Justice Gross told the jury of nine men and three women to cast aside any emotion and only assess the evidence.
The trial began at Ipswich Crown Court in mid-January and has now entered its sixth week.
