Nine British soldiers are facing charges in Cyprus after an incident in the coastal town of Ayia Napa on Friday night, the UK's Ministry of Defence said today.

It is understood that the charges arose from a brawl in the Bedrock bar in the popular holiday resort, which is known for its lively nightlife.
