Six killed in Sri Lanka suicide bomb blast
A female suicide bomber blew herself up at the main railway station in the Sri Lankan capital Colombo today, killing six people and wounding 95 others, the military and a hospital official said.
“It is a suicide blast on Platform 3. The bomber has got down from a train and exploded,” military spokesman Brig. Udaya Nanayakkara said.
Six travellers were killed in the blast, Nanayakkara said.
Pushpa Soysa, a nurse at Colombo National Hospital, said 95 people were taken to the hospital with injuries.
