UN Security Council unanimous in condemning Bhutto killing

The UN Security Council voted unanimously tonight to condemn the assassination of former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, urging all nations to help bring those responsible for "this reprehensible act" to justice.

The UN Security Council voted unanimously tonight to condemn the assassination of former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, urging all nations to help bring those responsible for "this reprehensible act" to justice.

Meeting in emergency session, the council described Ms Bhutto's killing as a threat to international peace and security and issued a statement that "calls on all Pakistanis to exercise restraint and maintain stability in the country".
