EU scientists recommend sunbed ban for children

European Union experts in Belgium today warned that sunbeds and tanning lamps were likely to increase the risk of skin cancer and recommended a ban on their use by children and other people at high risk.

“We need to act rapidly in order to raise public awareness of the risks associated with sunbeds,” said EU Public Health Commissioner Markos Kyprianou.
