US Embassy orders non-essential staff to leave Nepal

The US State Department today ordered all non-emergency US Embassy staff and family members to leave Nepal, an embassy spokesman said.

The “ordered departure” will reduce the staff at the US mission by about 50%, said embassy spokesman Robert Hugins.
