The Russian-US crew manning the International Space Station today began an operation to manoeuvre a capsule into a new dock to make way for a new team’s arrival next week.

The ITAR-Tass news agency said that the operation would take just over 30 minutes and would require the crew to bring the capsule 100-150 feet back from the station and manually guide it into a new parking spot.

A Soyuz capsule carrying a Russian, an American and Brazil’s first astronaut is scheduled to lift off from the Baikonur cosmodrome in Kazakhstan on March 30 and arrive at the station two days later.
