US politicians support penalties against Iran

The prospect of higher energy prices should not stop the world from imposing sanctions against oil-rich Iran, US senators said.

Senator John McCain, an Arizona Republican, said sanctions would be tough, but that Iran posed a greater danger to the US than Iraq at this point and must be contained.
