Police concern for missing girl
British police today said they were becoming increasingly concerned for the welfare of a 13-year-old girl missing from home from more than 18 hours.
Natalie Carver, 13, and her sister Natasha, 14, were reported missing from home in Peterborough at around 6pm on Friday.
Natasha was found safe and well shortly before 1pm today – but police say they cannot find Natalie.
A police spokeswoman said Natalie – who is white, five feet two inches and has long ginger hair – suffers from Crohn’s disease and might need medication.
She also had a feeding tube inserted in her nostril, to assist with medication she was taking.
Police said Natalie was last seen wearing a black short sleeve top with a pink Puma logo on the front, blue jeans with a white pattern on the leg, flat black suede fur-lined boots and a brown leather-look jacket.
“Searches of the area are currently being carried out, however, police would like to hear from anyone who may have seen Natalie or knows where she may be. We are growing concerned for the welfare,” said the spokeswoman.
“We would also appeal to Natalie directly – we are concerned for your safety so please let us know you are safe and well.”
Crohn’s disease is a chronic inflammatory disease of the intestines.
“If any chemist or doctor has been asked for medication to treat this disease and has any suspicions we need to know,” added the spokeswoman.
“Likewise if anyone thinks that might have seen a girl displaying any symptoms of the disease we need to hear from them.”
The spokeswoman added: “If anyone has seen these two girls together either last night or today we want to know immediately.”
Police said officers were trying to establish if Natasha knew where her sister was.
The spokeswoman said officers were also making all usual inquiries, including checking whether either girl might have been in contact with anyone via the internet.
