Al-Jazeera claim Bush planned to bomb their headquarters
A senior executive of Arab television station al-Jazeera has demanded publication of a memo which reportedly details US President George Bush floating the idea of bombing its headquarters.
Al-Jazeera's director general is delivering a letter to 10 Downing Street calling for the memo to be made public.
According to press reports, the memo includes a transcript record of Tony Blair attempting to persuade Mr Bush not to take military action against the al-Jazeera headquarters.
The White House has dismissed reports of the conversation as "outlandish".
British Labour MP and former defence minister Peter Kilfoyle has tabled a Commons motion calling for the document to be made public.
He said on BBC Radio that the matter "concerns not just al-Jazeera journalists but concerns journalists all over the world.
"We need to know if this discussion has taken place or not, if this document does exist or not. Banning this document from being published does prompt a lot of concern and doubts."
