Poll: Labour three points ahead

Labour has a three point lead over the Conservatives, according to an opinion poll to be published tomorrow.

The YouGov poll for The Daily Telegraph put Labour on 36%, the Tories on 33% and with the Liberal Democrats on 24%.

Of the party leaders, 37% thought that 37% thought Mr Blair would make the best Prime Minister, 24% chose Michael Howards and 18% favoured Charles Kennedy.

:: The findings are based on a representative sample of 1,309 voters across Britain interviewed between April 29 and May 1.
