Scotswomen reveal what's worn under their skirts
Two Scotswomen stripped down to their underwear outside Versace’s shop in Milan today in protest at the use of leather in fashion.
Yvonne Taylor, 32, from Edinburgh, and actress Julianne McCheyne, 27, from Glasgow, held up a sign in Italy’s fashion capital that said: "We’d rather bare skin than wear skin."
Both women have previously taken part in such campaigns for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, an animal rights group.
Taylor said she has stripped in China and India and was arrested and expelled from both countries.
“I didn’t think I would be arrested in Italy,” she added, referring to the 20 policemen who showed up to see her disrobe, but only checked her passport.
The protest is part of a European campaign that will move to Madrid.
