A man accused of forging passports and other documents used by suspects in the Madrid terror bombing has been arrested, court officials said in Madrid.

The man was detained on a warrant issued by Judge Juan del Olmo, who is leading the probe into the March 11 attack that killed 190 people and injured more than 2,000.

His name and nationality were not immediately disclosed.

The man is accused of falsifying documents, including passports, that were seized during searches, including one at an apartment where seven suspects blew themselves up April 3 as police tried to arrest them.

Fifteen people have been held in connection with the bombing.

They face preliminary charges of mass murder or terrorism, charges which fall short of a formal indictment.
